Used Book Donations

As the Reading Workshop continues rolling out in full force, we are once again collecting gently used
books. Our hope is that teachers can incorporate some into their class libraries, and we can also begin
collecting early for a March Used Book Sale.
We are especially in need of nonfiction books at this point in time.
Any donations can be dropped off in the boxes in the front hallway or to the office,
attention Ella MacLeod.

Please, no board books at this time!

We thank you in advance for your great support of Lincoln’s Love of Literacy!

100th Day Collections

Congratulations Lincoln Students!
We collected over 1,165 items for Families in need!

BRAVO!

100th Day Collections

Dear Lincoln Families,

 The second grade classes asked our Lincoln Community join us for our We Can Project!  For the past thirteen years, Lincoln School classes have participated in a special activity for the 100th day of school.  Each grade level has worked together to collect 100 of a specific personal item.  The items are all donated to the Woburn Council of Social Concern.  These are items which are not typically covered by food stamps.  We have been able to donate over 1,000 items each year, thanks to the generosity of Lincoln families.

Thanks to all the grade levels participating this year!

* Kindergarten: toothbrushes
* Grade 1: lip balm
* Grade 2: soap
* Grade 3: toothpaste
* Grade 4: combs and brushes
* Grade 5: hand sanitizer

Artists As Engineers At Lincoln School

 Art Teacher, Ms. Costello, teaches students how to be Artists as well as Engineers!  That's right, students use their creativity as well as their problem-solving skills to build all sorts of designs.  Ms. Costello offers this class to all grade levels, beyond the regularly scheduled art classes that students already participate in.  Thank You Ms. Costello!

GRADE 4:  Hazel Lovins, Julia Boyd, and Ariana Brooks
Created A Doll With A Pillow Suit.

They based their problem on the book entitled, Roller Girl.   Astrid,
the main character in this book, has trouble roller skating with her peers.
She was falling a lot and felt left out.  They created the pillow suit to help
 her not get hurt or scared while still learning to skate.
