 Welcome to a New School Year Lincoln Families! 

Dear Lincoln Families,

Thank You for all of your help getting your children get off to a great start for the new school year!

The first few weeks of school students in  Grades K - 5 will be reviewing health and safety protocols and procedures with their classroom teachers as well as with Ms. MacLeod and me.   It is important to go over the important safety procedures but is equally important that as adults we all try our best to model the behaviors we want our students to follow. his week we will also hold practice fire drills on Tuesday, September 22, and Thursday, September 24, both will be held at 9:00 AM.  The Winchester Fire Department will also be leading us in these drills.  Classroom teachers will be reviewing these procedures with their students today so students know exactly what to do and where their classroom stands outside.   Teachers will also be discussing and introducing/reintroducing our RULER Program which teaches students about important social/ emotional skills. These skills will be embedded throughout the school day all year long.

Every fall, we update our safety procedures for fire drills and other types of evacuations.  We also have an Incident Management Team (IMT) that meets monthly to go over emergency plans.  This team also meets with the district-wide incident management team throughout the school year to ensure that all schools in the district are updated regularly regarding safety procedures and policies.

 I would like to also say Thank You to the LSPA for your generosity and support by providing each  student with a lanyard that they can use to place their mask on when they need to take a mask break and/or eat their snack and lunch.  This morning, each student received a blue colored lanyard with Lincoln School printed on it.   LSPA also donated additional signage and colorful tape that we have used throughout the building to help us clearly mark 6 ft. of distance and  remind students of handwashing and other important health and safety tips.

Lincoln School also received another very kind and generous gift today!  Jeff Wheeler, President of the Winchester Rotary Club, hand delivered a wonderful tray of delicious cookies today to our staff!   Mr. Wheeler also offered sincere gratitude and praise for the work being done by our entire staff.
