School's Out For Summer!!!

River of Rocks

Students throughout Lincoln School participated in a literacy activity utilizing the book,  Only One You.  These lessons were lead by both Ms. Costello, Art Teacher and Ms. MacLeod, Reading Teacher.   After the literacy lesson ended, students then began to write kind messages on their rocks painting  them with beautiful designs.  The  rocks were then placed in our River of Rocks.

Lincoln staff members also had the opportunity to paint a rock that is part of our River Rock of Kindness!!!   Words of  Wisdom and Kindness were also displayed on the back side of the rocks as well as on our bulletin board located in the Main Street Lobby.

Thank you to Ms. MacLeod and Ms. Costello for planning this wonderful thematic literacy/art activity for our entire Lincoln School.

We hope that students and families will come view the Words of Wisdom Bulletin Board and the beautiful River of Rocks located outside our play structure.

Thank you Lincoln Families for helping our school earn approximately $350.00 on our USED BOOK SALE!   These additional funds have allowed Lincoln School to buy 300 new leveled books (A-H) to distribute to grades K-1 for use during their Reading Workshop!!!

This year we decided to fund books for grades K and 1 since they piloted the new Lucy Calkins Reading Program. We will do this again next year, and we will support additional grades!

Also a very special Thank you to our Reading Teachers: Ella MacLeod, Stascia Pollack, and Jeri Katz for organizing this event.

Our school store will be open for the last time this school year on Wednesday, June 20th. This has been a huge success and next year we hope to have our older grades students work with our younger grade students, using their math skills to make change and more.

Thank you to our students and parent volunteers for working at our store.  Also a special Thank you to Parent Volunteer and LSPA Co-chair, Julie Condron, for all of her efforts to organize the store, order the items, and assist with volunteers.
