Lincoln School
will be participating
in the
WE CAN PROJECT

The WE CAN Project was designed and created by singer/songwriter Jesse Ruben with the help of some dedicated and talented educators.  The project was inspired by Jesse's song "We Can," which he wrote after running the New York City Marathon for the first time.

Jesse hoped his song would inspire more people to start running, but it became much bigger than that. What started as an inspiring song has transformed into an inspiring project that more than 600,000 kids in the US and Canada have participated in.

The WE CAN project is a growth mindset service learning initiative that inspires and profoundly connects students of all ages to the difference they can make in their lives, their communities, and in the world. The We Can Project takes service-based learning a step further, helping children realize that their own dreams and goals can be not only worthwhile but also possible.

The creators of the WE CAN project and here at Lincoln, strongly believe that creating personal goals, and goals for the community helps children realize that dreams can come true, and can feel great at the same time!

We introduced this project to our students at our first All School Assembly. Our staff will be meeting and planning throughout the school year to implement this project and connect what we do to service-based learning that reaches out to our Winchester community and beyond.

The website also has an introduction video, the video clip from the Today Show.  It has the story of how the project got started, how it works as well as some information for parents.

We will be holding an All School Assembly on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in our school auditorium, featuring a live performance by Jesse Ruben.

Thank you to our LSPA for helping sponsor this event for ALL of our Lincoln Students and Staff.  We greatly appreciate your support and generosity.
